Dear Community Member,
The Chevron Richmond Refinery Community Tour Day that was initially scheduled for September 22, 2012, has been postponed. As you know, a fire occurred at the refinery on Monday, August 6, 2012. Our primary focus is on understanding the root cause of this incident and making repairs to the facility.
We are working closely with local, state and federal authorities to investigate the incident, which is still in its early stages. It will take time before all the facts are known to determine the scope and damage to our facilities.
When this work is done and we return to our normal operating procedures, we will reschedule the tour day and welcome you to the Richmond Refinery to learn about the work we do here in Richmond.
