Blossoms and Thorns, A Powerful New Documentary Film July 6, 2012 |

Please join us for the premiere of a new documentary film: Blossom and Thorns: A Community Uprooted Blossoms and Thorns is a powerful depiction of the history and WWII experiences of Richmond’s Japanese American community of flower growers. Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park’s new Visitor Education Center, 1414 Harbor Way South, Richmond, CA, Telephone 510.232.3108 Screenings of the film will be held at 1 pm, 3 pm and 3:30 pm; with a panel discussion at 2 pm moderated by journalist George T. Kiriyama featuring filmmaker Ken Kokka, cultural historian Donna Graves, and members of several nursery families whose histories span nearly a century in the region. This event is co-sponsored by Contra Costa Japanese American Citizens League, Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park, Rosie the Riveter Trust and Richmond Arts & Culture Commission.
