Just got back from an awesome event, Throw Down on the Farm, a cookoff at Sunnyside Organic Seedlings in North Richmond involving eight celebrity chefs and several hundred hungry guests. It was a project of East Bay Food Revolution, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing back fresh and healthy food and the skills to prepare it. This event was a fundraiser for “Hope’s Farm and Kitchen,” to be built in North Richmond incorporating a culinary garden and a teaching kitchen where young people can learn how to grow and prepare healthy food.
