A quick reminder: Please join us for Point Richmond Acoustic season closer featuring the incredible finger-style guitar virtuoso Rick Ruskin, next Friday, May 11, 2012, at the first Methodist Church of Point Richmond, 201 Martina Avenue. Show starts at 8 pm, tickets are $15. Songwriter Claudia Russell opens the show.
Ruskin is a guitar player's guitar player. Former Waybacks frontman Stevie Coyle says, “Rick Ruskin is a bona fide guitar hero. He's been an absolute fave of mine since the 1970s. He's one of those rare guitarists that's got a real voice, an unmistakable style. Don't ruin your life by missing him.”
Opening artist Claudia Russell is familiar to Point Richmond audiences. Known primarily as a singer/songwriter, Russell is also an able finger-style guitarist with a deft touch and inventive ear. Russell returns for this show from a trip to Europe to perform and track down the haunts of her father, Val Rosing, a prolific Big Band singer from the 1930s British Dance Hall era.
Bring your friends, and enjoy an evening of the finest hand made music, up close and personal, at Point Richmond Acoustic, Friday May 11, at 8 pm at the First Methodist Church in Point Richmond, 201 Martina Avenue.
Thanks,
Bruce Kaplan
