Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park Seeks Docents for New Visitor Center: Training Dates in March and April January 18, 2012 |
|
With the new Visitor Center opening this spring, the national Park Service is recruiting docents for Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park. They are looking for volunteers over the age of 18 to assist with operations in the park's new Visitor Education Center, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open in late May, 2012. They are asking people to commit to volunteer at least 8 hours/month, for a period of at least one year (but of course, they are flexible!) The docent training is composed of 3 initial training units, and each unit is offered on two different dates. You can see the spring 2012 dates here: If you are interested in becoming a docent at our park, please contact me with the 3 training dates you are able to attend. Training location is TBA. If you cannot make any of the training dates but would like to be informed of future training opportunities, please let Lucien Sonder know. We would appreciate if you could pass this flier along to your networks!
