POINT RICHMOND IS known for its summer concert series, but the music doesn't stop when the seasons change.
A concert series hosted by Point Richmond Acoustic Music will present guitarist Stevie Coyle at 8 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, at 201 Martina Ave.
Coyle, a former member of popular Bay Area band the Waybacks and a past performer at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, is known for the variety of styles he has mastered, as well as his "witty and quirky songwriting and deadpan vocals," the church website notes.
Coyle, a regular contributor to Acoustic Guitar magazine, recently released his first solo CD, "Ten in One."
Joining him at Friday's concert will be singer/songwriter Caren Armstrong.
The landmark church, which co-hosts the concert series with Point Richmond Music and Folk Unlimited, provides an intimate concert setting. Tickets are $12.50 general, $10 seniors and students. For more details go to www.folkunlimited.com.
