FUNDRAISING IN A CHALLENGING ECONOMY WORKSHOP FOR NONPROFITS

 

WITH FOUNDATION CENTER AT RICHMOND PUBLIC LIBRARY

 

On Monday, December 14, 2009 the Richmond Public Library and the Foundation Center, San Francisco will offer a free class for nonprofit and community based organizations, “Fundraising in Challenging Times”.  The class will be held  from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon in the Main Library’s Madeline F. Whittlesey Community Room, 325 Civic Center Plaza in central Richmond.

This new class will give you a basic overview of what you can do to survive, thrive, and succeed in sustaining your nonprofit during the current economic crisis.

  • What you can do to make sure that your nonprofit is positioned to weather the current economic situation
  • The impact of the downturn on philanthropic giving, and how to adapt your fundraising methods and strategies in the current economy
  • We'll also provide you with links and resources that will help you to explore approaches that best fit with your nonprofit's situation.

This course is intended for representatives of nonprofit organizations engaged in

The Richmond Public Library maintains a Cooperating Collection of publications of the Foundation Center and a variety of supplementary materials and services in areas useful to grantseekers, including the FoundationDirectory Online Professional database.

This directory is updated weekly and provides comprehensive and accurate information on 80,000 U.S. grantmakers and their grants- -includes links to foundation Websites, IRS filings, philanthropy news and more.  Some features include:

·         Foundation news, requests for proposals, publications and job postings.

·         Affiliations for key staff members.

·         Custom-search capabilities within foundation grants lists.

·         Over 359,000 trustee, officer and donor names- -fully indexed.

·         Program details and application guidelines for leading foundations.
