Capacity Building and new Scholarship Program investments

Chevron has announced that there will be a reception and press conference on Tuesday, December 1 from 10:00 to 11:00 to announce two major investments that will significantly benefit citizens of Richmond and West County.  Chevron will announce the winners of Chevron’s $1,000,000 economic development and capacity building request for proposals, as well as a new scholarship program – in partnership with the Tiger Woods Foundation - that will create opportunities for Richmond-area high school students to receive assistance for their college careers.  The event will be held at the auditorium in Chevron’s Energy and Technology Center located at 100 Chevron Way, Building 10, Richmond, and light refreshments will be served.

Both announcements are part of Chevron’s California Partnership, a new initiative to invest in economic development, job creation and education as essential building blocks of California’s future.  The grant recipients to be announced on December 1 are nonprofit organizations that have been recognized by Chevron as playing a positive role in providing support and services to increase economic self-sufficiency in the region, either through high-quality vocational education or through small- and medium-sized enterprise development programs.  In addition, Chevron and the Tiger Woods Foundation’s new 4-year scholarship program will create opportunities for deserving local students realize their potential through higher education.

Please join Chevron on December 1st to recognize our partners in the community who are working hard to help keep the entrepreneurial spirit alive in Richmond and the West County.
