Last year, Richmond Rotary Club held a sold-out fundraiser, at the old Winehaven building at Point Molate to raise money for the Rotary Peace Project, a Richmond based program dedicated to the goal of reducing violent crime in Richmond.

Building on the theme of historical and spooky buildings normally off limits to the public, this year’s event, “The Ghosts of Shipyard 3,” will be held at the that old concrete “moderne” monolith, the General Warehouse at historic Shipyard 3, October 30, 2009, 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. For some great photos, see http://www.flickr.com/photos/80493442@N00/3437279116/.

So, Join Richmond Rotary for a ghoulish Halloween at historic Shipyard 3, once considered one of the nation's most dangerous industrial workplaces and still a Bay Area haunt. No foolin'.

For information, click here. One of the features is a wine sale that you can participate in on-line and pick up your booty at the vent. For more information on the on-line wine sale, click here.
