Free Drive-Through Flu Shots for Kaiser
Members Today in Richmond October 10, 2009 |
What: The City of Richmond wishes to thank Kaiser Permanente’s Richmond Medical Center for hosting a special event to promote both human and environmental health. This Saturday, October 10, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Kaiser Permanente will administer flu shots to its members in the medical center’s parking structure located on 9th Street between Nevin Avenue and Macdonald Avenue . In addition to receiving a flu shot, each interested member may receive a free maple or redwood tree seedling, provided by the City of Richmond Parks & Landscaping Division in an effort to promote urban forestry. Each seedling will come with planting and care instructions. This event was initiated by Stan Scher, Emeritus Professor of Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Mr. Scher enlisted the help of Kaiser Richmond cardiologist and Richmond City Councilmember Dr. Jeff Ritterman in order to transform the idea into reality.
