Last week to see "Loot"
at the Masquers
Playhouse |
With
Loot, a riotously absurd
and anarchistic comedy,
Joe Orton turned
middle-class platitudes
on their heads. In his
short career from 1964
until his death in '67,
this modern satirist
shocked, outraged and
entertained audiences
with his scandalous
black comedies. "Ortonesque"
became a recognized term
for the outrageously
macabre.

Day - September 27
Every 4th Sunday of the
month The Museum

themes and highlight
certain types of trains.
Some of those can't be
seen every day, so be

The home layout of
popular television

Snyder.
This beautiful large
scale tin plate layout
is now on display in the
downstairs room. Even
though they are still
working on a more
permanent display setup,
that didn't stop them
from opening the layout
for display already! Be
sure to see this amazing
display!

And finally...not in
Richmond, but all about
Richmond is the play,
"this world in a woman's
hands"
produced by the
Shotgun Players
in Berkely. The play
runs through October
11th at the Ashby
Stage. Tickets are $15
- $30.
From the playwright, "I
hope to give voice to
the untold stories of my
grandparents and the
many people who worked
in the Richmond
shipyards 60 years ago.
It is not only a story
that is aching to be
told but it is one that
depicts and celebrates a
vital turning point in
Bay Area History.
The real women and their
stories are as
transcendent and
powerful as the famous
icon of Rosie the
Riveter herself."
