Interactive Resources Provides Structural
Engineering Review for 23.4 Megawatt Solar Project in Canada September 18, 2009 |
Interactive Resources of Richmond, CA, was selected to provide structural engineering foundation review of a 23.4 megawatts (DC) of solar photovoltaic (PV) power southeast of Arnprior, Ontario. Consisting of more than 300,000 solar panels, the site will generate clean electricity for nearly 7,000 homes during peak times when the province's power demand is high.
The project was described by a local newspaper as the largest solar power installation in North America.
The structural engineer of record was Genivar, a Canadian engineering company.
The Arnprior Solar Project is being developed as two installations under the Government of Ontario's Standard Offer Program, which encourages renewable energy production to help replace coal-fired generation. The electricity produced will provide local electricity service via connections to the Hydro One distribution grid.
Interactive Resources was retained by enXco, an Escondido, CA, based company that is an American affiliate of EDF EN Canada an EDF Energies Nouvelles Company. The support Interactive Resources has provided to enXco has been exceptional, said Gonzalo M Stabile, Director, R&D for enXco Inc.
