If You Thought You Heard Fireworks Last Night...

…They were part of an event at the Ford Point Craneway put on by a Japanese Corporation (a Mary Kay type business) for 6,000 of its female employees. The Bay Area special events industry is abuzz that they've decided to come to Richmond for their gala instead of staying in San Francisco, which is putting Richmond on the map for the industry.

As part of their show, they wanted to include 10 minutes of fireworks, by the same company that did the July 3 show for the City from the same point in Lucretia Edwards Park. The fireworks occurred between 9:30 and 10:00 p,m and all of the necessary regulatory paperwork had been filed and obtained.  Parks and Rec, the City Manager's Office, PD, FD, the Coast Guard, and Marina Bay all provided their approval, and the City Council approved it on July 28 (Item K-3).

Good job, Orton Development!
