The
NorCal Solar Energy Association announced that the City of Richmond has
received a high ranking for new solar installations in the upcoming 2008
Bay Area Solar Installations (BASI) report. In fact, the City of
Richmond has been ranked as one of the top three cities in the category
for Watts per Capita installed.
Richmond has been invited to the City Solar Award and Networking event
to be held on July 15, 2009 as part of the Intersolar Conference at the
Moscone Center in San Francisco. This event will feature the latest Bay
Area solar installations data and well-known industry leaders and
experts will discuss newly emerging trends.
The 2008 City Solar Awards (CSA) are based on the upcoming Bay Area
Solar Installations report, which describes the amount of solar
Photovoltaic (PV) installed in 165 communities and ten counties as of
12/31/08. The analysis is based on solar incentive data from the
California Public Energy Commission, PG&E and the City of Palo Alto
Utilities.
The CSAs recognize cities and counties for their significant progress
and awards are intended to raise public awareness and to develop a
spirit of friendly competition from one community to the next.
Specifically, NorCal Solar applauds your City’s initiatives to remove
barriers and promote solar and other renewable energy technology
solutions. Therefore, we are hoping that two representatives from the
City of Richmond will be able to join us at next week’s City Solar Award
and Networking event where your city will be officially acknowledged for
this significant progress.
