CITY OF RICHMOND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ARE RETURNING TO THE CIVIC CENTER—

SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS WILL BE OPERATIONAL AT THE NEWLY RENOVATED CIVIC CENTER CAMPUS ON MONDAY, APRIL 20, AT 8:30 AM

Richmond, CA – The first phase of the move of City of Richmond administrative services, back to the historical 450 Civic Center Plaza, commences on Friday, April 17th.  Several departments will be closing shop at noon this coming Friday, April 17th to complete packing boxes, and will be operational at 450 Civic Center Plaza (formerly 2600 Barrett Ave.) on Monday, April 20 at 8:30 a.m.

City of Richmond administrative services will be split between two locations during the week of April 20— some at 1401 Marina Way South and the remaining at 450 Civic Center. On April 27th most will be operational at 450 Civic Center Plaza; and all City phone numbers will remain the same.

The First Phase of the move occurring on April 17 includes the following departments:

§   Engineering

§   Fire Marshal

§   Information Technology (IT)

§   Planning and Building Regulations

It would be best to avoid transacting business with the departments listed above on Friday April 17th because they will be preparing for the move and will close at noon on this day. Please plan to conduct business at the 450 Civic Center location on Monday, April 20th.

The Second Phase of the move occurring on April 24 includes the following departments:

§  City Attorney

§  City Clerk

§  City Manager

§  Finance Department

§  Human Resources

§  Office of the Mayor

It would be best to avoid transacting business with the departments listed above on Friday April 24th because they will be preparing for the move and will close at noon on this day. Please plan to conduct business at the 450 Civic Center location on Monday, April 27th.

This two and a half year, $100 million Civic Center Renovation Project will wind up in June, when the old Hall of Justice building will be occupied with a new City Council Chamber, City Councilmember offices, and other City offices.  Until that time, the Redevelopment Agency, Fire Department Administration and the Office of Neighborhood Safety will remain at 1401 Marina Way South.
