County to Offer Flu Vaccine at Public

For Release: November 6, 2008 Contact: Erika Jenssen, 925-313-6734 MEDIA ADVISORY County to Offer Flu Vaccine at Public Health Immunization Clinics WHAT: There is still time to receive a flu vaccine before Thanksgiving. Seasonal flu vaccinations will be offered at Contra Costa Health Services Public Health immunization clinics starting Monday, November 10, 2008. Flu vaccinations are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Vaccinations cost $15 for adults and $10 for children up to 19 years of age, but no one will be turned away if unable to pay. Vaccinations will be available until springtime. WHO: Anyone older than 6 months is eligible for a vaccination. You should not receive a vaccination if you are allergic to eggs. Pregnant women, people with chronic disease, all children younger than 19 years and those older than 50 years should receive flu vaccine. Nasal spray and injections will both be available for healthy people ages 2 to 49 and are not pregnant.
