New Richmond Code Enforcement Manager October 23, 2008 |
RPD’s new Code Enforcement Manager, Tim Higares, will start work on Oct. 14th. Tim has 22 years of experience working in city government. He has worked for several jurisdictions throughout the Bay Area. As a Code Enforcement Officer, Mr. Higares worked as Senior Neighborhood Preservation Officer with the City of Union City and was recognized as Union City’s “Employee of the Year.” Most recently, he has been employed with the City of Alameda as a Senior Code Enforcement Officer. Tim has taken SCACEO (Southern California Association of Code Enforcement Officers) certification classes and he obtained a Code Enforcement supervisory level certification. He was nominated and elected to the SCACEO Board of Directors as a District Representative and eventually was appointed to the position of Second Vice President. As a SCACEO board member, Mr. Higares helped SCACEO become active in Northern California and he helped implement the SCACEO certification program throughout the state. He is currently a Director and the Northern California Education Chairman for the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers (CACEO), the largest Code Enforcement organization in the nation. Tim is also a gourmet cook, is married, and has 4 children.
