Richmond COPS March 25, 2007 |
Each week the Richmond Police Department publishes what could be a mini-series called “Richmond COPS” that briefly describes a number of successful police operations that resulted in arrests or prevention of crimes. Click here for the latest version. If you want to receive this regularly, contact emedina@richmondpd.net.
Although RPD continues to dedicate substantial resources to deal with our high homicide rate, they find plenty of time to deal with more mundane but also important areas of law enforcement. Hundreds of citations have been issues for “boom box” vehicles. Copper wire thieves (“copper miners”) who affect public safety by pulling wiring out of whole blocks of street lights are being busted regularly. Graffiti offenders are being caught in the act.
The most important member of the police department is you. If you see a crime or anything suspicious, don’t hesitate to call. If it’s an emergency, call 9-1-1. If not, call 510/233-1214. If you just want to provide information about suspicious individuals, patterns of suspicious activity, or vehicles, you can contact your beat team by phone or email.
And don’t forget, for code enforcement issues, use CORConnect. |
