Cecilia Jordan Butt June 13, 2006 |
Our granddaughter, Cecilia Jordan Butt arrived right on time June 4, 2006, for proud parents Andrew and Kimberly Butt, their first. It was a little bit of tight scheduling for Kim, who just a few days earlier completed a Master’s Degree in Architectural History at U.C. Berkeley and graduated on time.
Kim is already a licensed architect, as is Andrew, and she capitalized on her previous experience with San Francisco architecture historic preservation firm, Carey & Co, for her master’s thesis subject, which dealt with Richmond’s historic sites related to Rosie the Riveter WW II Home Front National Historical Park. At Carey & Co., Kim worked on a number of projects for the National Park Service that involved Richmond Home Front sites, including National register nominations for Shipyard 3, the Kaiser Field Hospital and Atchison Village. For the past several months, Kim worked part-time at Interactive Resources where, of local interest, she helped prepare the successful $2 million grant application for the Maritime Child Care Center as well as plans for the rehabilitation of the Santa Fe Reading Room/Trainmaster Building now at the entrance to Point Richmond. |
