After a year of refurbishing and a change of ownership, the restaurant in the venerable 100 plus-year old Baltic Building in Point Richmond will open again for a reception and music on Thursday, November 3, and for dining and music on Friday, November 3, 2005.

 

The new name is “The Pub at Baltic Square,” and the new proprietors are Chris and Tara Denison and Jaime and Gloria Molina. The Denisons are experienced restaurateurs who both previously worked at the old Baltic restaurant. Jaime Molina is currently the head chef and kitchen manager at the Hotel Mac, who will have only a few hours off between his last dinner at the Mac and his first dinner at the Pub. Gloria Molina also has several years of food service experience that includes the old Rosemary’s Bakery and Edibles, both in Point Richmond.

 

Chris and Jaime describe the food generally as “continental,” and they will revive the musical entertainment that once made the Baltic a Bay Area destination for patrons of local bands. Friday and Saturday will be “boogie night” with dancing music from 9:30 PM to 1:30 AM. Dinner music will start up in December, and Sundays will be reserved more for “listening music” including acoustical and maybe even some bluegrass.

Dinner will be served Sunday through Thursday 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM, and Friday and Saturday 5:30 PM – 10:00 PM
