New Housing Authority Director
for Richmond August 28, 2005 |
|
City Manager Bill Lindsay has announced that he has hired a new Executive Director for the Richmond Housing Authority. Mr. Tim Jones will begin work with the City on Tuesday, September 6th. Mr. Jones was most recently the Director of Housing Management for the Oakland Housing Authority, and has a combined total of 15 years housing management experience with Mendocino County, Stanislaus County, and the City of Sacramento. In making this announcement, Mr. Lindsay acknowledged the outstanding work of Manny Rosario who has served as Interim Executive Director for the Housing Authority since last year. Manny has provided stable leadership to the Housing Authority during a very difficult time in its history, and should be commended for his efforts. The Richmond Housing Authority is an independent agency that operates under authority of the Federal government overseen by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Richmond City Council and two resident commissioners sit as the governing body and are called the board of commissioners. |
