Join Berkeleyites on the Bay
Trail August 1, 2005 |
|
Meanwhile, the Berkeley Path Wanderers Association will be
wandering a little farther afield than normal when they make
their way to the Bay Trail for a tour of historic Richmond.
The Aug. 3 walk, which starts at 10 a.m., is part of the club's monthly Wednesday outings and is free and open to the public. The three-mile trek on level ground will be led by Bruce and Sandra Beyaert. The walk will take in sculptural interpretive exhibits installed as part of the Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historic Park and serve as an introduction to the Richmond portion of the Bay Trail and its scenic vistas. Hikers should meet at 10 a.m. at Shimada Park off the Marina Bay Parkway. Colorful maps of the Richmond Bay Trail will be handed out so walkers can explore more of the area on their own, said Bruce Beyaert. For more information on the walk call the Beyaerts at 510-235-2835 or e-mail them at beyaert@earthlink.net. To learn more about the Richmond section of the Bay Trail, which has new additions in place or coming soon, drop an e-mail to tracbaytrail@earthlink.net.
