Music and History Together April 22, 2005 |

The first public event of Richmond’s Centennial takes place tomorrow. The Oakland East Bay Symphony will make only a single visit to Richmond this year, Saturday, April 23, 2005, at 3:00 PM in the Richmond Convention Center. Admission is free, having been underwritten by the Lesher Foundation, the City of Richmond Centennial Committee, the Education Fund of West Contra Costa Unified School District and Best Music Company. The program includes Beethoven’s Symphony #8, Suite from Psycho by Berhard Hermann and Igor, Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. The performance is part of the City’s Centennial Celebration, and from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM there will be a reception to honor past mayors, council persons, and past chairs/presidents of the Richmond Chamber, Council of Industries, Neighborhood Coordinating Council and City of Richmond Commissioners. |
