Who is Rosie the Riveter? A character familiar to the World War II generation, Rosie symbolizes the countless women who took jobs in factories and railroads in support of the war effort. To preserve this significant part of our heritage, the National Park Service established the Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park in Richmond, California.
