The Public Safety/Public Services Standing Committee of the City Council will convene its first evening meeting today, January 23, 2003, at 5:30 PM in the Council Chambers. It was decided last year to hold half of the two regular monthly meetings in the evening to provide an opportunity for working people to attend. The time was set early so that people could still get home for dinner.

Members of the committee are Penn, Butt, Griffin and Rogers.

On the agenda are the following items:

·          Presentation and Report on Quality Foods in West Contra Costa County

·          Update on Community Involved Policing

·          Consider Public Funding Program of Local Election Campaigns

·          Progress Report on Abatement and Revenue Enhancement Projects

·          Consider Ordinance Amendment Regulating Liquor Consumption in City Parks

The meeting will be televised on KCRT, Channel 25.
