Earth Day Activities March 30, 2002 |
If you own or can borrow a bike, you may
wish to join Phil Maynard of the TRAC Steering Committee on April 20 for
a scenic bike ride which will follow the Bay Trail from Central Avenue
to the West County Earth Day Festival. This will be a great opportunity
to see the existing Bay Trail and learn about new segments which will be
completed soon. As explained below, you also have the option of joining
the tour at the Rosie Memorial in Marina Bay or The Plunge in Point
Richmond. No matter how you transport yourself to the West County Earth Day Festival, be sure to take one of the limited bus tours of the landfill and learn about the scenic 1.7 mile Bay Trail segment which will be opening late this year on the south side of the landfill.
