Bio-Diesel
From Point Richmond May 25, 2001 |
“Biodiesel revolution begins in S.F. First retail outlet for vegetable fuel opens” When most people think of fuel and Richmond, they think of Chevron, which has refined petroleum in Point Richmond for nearly 100 years. However, another Point Richmond company, CytoCulture (See Tom Butt E-Forum, April 24, 2001), has pioneered the use of diesel made from vegetable oils. The new vegetable-based fuel may be the wave of the future and is now available on a retail basis for the first time in San Francisco. How about a bio-diesel fueled power plant? Look out, Chevron!
